While most of us at the fresh, young age of 16 are worrying about boys, makeup and clothes, model Kaia Gerber is set on world domination with the announcement of a collaboration with famed designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Gerber is fast on the heels of overtaking supermodels like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner by making her own mark in the fashion industry.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford has co-designed a ready-to-wear collection including footwear, sunglasses and accessories. And that’s THREE, yes you heard right, three months after her catwalk debut.
Hitting Karl Lagerfeld stores in September 2018, the collection is said to blend Lagerfeld’s Parisian chic with Gerber’s west coast casual style.
With our imaginations running wild, we can’t wait to see if a pair of rumoured studded elbow length gloves are part of the collection.
CEO of Karl Lagerfeld, Pier Paolo Righi, says that Gerber and Lagerfeld have been “working intensely over the last months with Kaia in LA and at our studio in Paris”.
The relationship between Lagerfeld and Gerber began when she walked in his Fendi show in 2017 as well as opening for Chanel Spring 2018.
And if Gerber hadn’t proved her It-girl status before, she definitely has now – amassing 2.7 million followers on her Instagram and walking for 18 brands alone last year including Calvin Klein, Burberry, Prada, Versace and Chloe.
Time will soon tell if her partnership with Lagerfeld can make it to the same heights as the Gigi X Tommy collection.
But clearly the world already can’t get enough of Gerber so it’s bound to be a success.
