Christopher Esber is coming to a New Zealand runway for the first time, and he’s not walking alone. The Iconic has confirmed the designer lineup for The Front Row, its headline show at NZFW 2026, taking place Friday 21 August at Auckland’s Shed 10. Alongside Esber, the show marks the New Zealand runway debut of Australian labels Blanca, Clea and One of Others, plus Cendre. New Zealand labels Paris Georgia and Deadly Ponies will also walk, joined by The Iconic’s own labels, Aere and Mínima Esenciales.
It’s the retailer’s second runway show, following its international debut at Christchurch Spring Fashion Festival in 2025, but this time it will include shoppable looks, so the appeal doesn’t end when the lights come up.
The Iconic’s Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer, Gayle Burchell, says the show reflects just how much the NZFW platform means to the brand.
“It’s wonderful to be back at New Zealand Fashion Week for the second year running, celebrating the creativity shaping fashion in Aotearoa. It’s an opportunity to showcase our inspiring assortment to highly engaged Kiwi customers while discovering local designers we can support to build their brands and grow with us,” she says.
“Our investment in a more seamless New Zealand customer experience is really resonating. Since rolling out overnight delivery across metropolitan areas last year, we’ve seen strong customer uptake contributing to healthy growth of our Kiwi customer base.”
It’s also the latest chapter in the retailer’s growing relationship with New Zealand fashion. The retailer already stocks a long list of Kiwi labels, including Harris Tapper, Marle, Karen Walker, Yu Mei and Rodd & Gunn, as part of a curated edit of more than 1,500 brands.
Since launching in Australia and New Zealand back in 2011, The Iconic has carved out a serious presence in Australasian fashion retail. This lineup only adds to that reputation.
