We love a new brow look as much as anyone, so when news of the barbed-wire eyebrow trend dropped we were totes keen to see what the hype was about. But TBH, we’re not so sure if this is something that will be gracing that pages of our next issue.
In the space of just a few short weeks, the ‘gram has gone from loving feathered brow – ICYMI Kim Kardashian’s MUA says the Instagram brow is totally over – to this new spiked styling hack.
RN Allure is giving the brow look some serious props, but we’re not entirely sure we’re 100 behind it – just yet.
If you’re keen to try it, here’s the deal: first you’ll need to part your eyebrows in zig-zags all the way across so they alternate in upward and downward spikes.
Next, set them in place with some heavy duty brow gel – you can go high end with Benefit Ready, Set, BROW, $44, or a more affordable option is The Body Shop Brow and Lash Gel, $24. Make sure you’ve armed with a decent spoolie, too.

So far the edgy look has been picked up by a few MUAs who’ve shared their take on the brow trend.
Back in March, makeup artist Athena Paginton posted a pic on Instagram showing a model rocking the spiked look, and while it hasn’t gone totally viral, the post has had around 7,667 likes to date.

Denver-based MUA jeanxfoxx was obvs quite taken by Patigon’s pic, and posted own her version of the inspired look teaming it with a red glitter eye.
She captioned the post: “This photo is simply for brow appreciation.”
