Prepare for more all-over-body goosebumps than that time your office aircon dropped 12 degrees in 12 seconds…

Hulu has released the first look at the The Handmaid’s Tale season two trailer and it’s nothing short of a haunting masterpiece. Not to mention a touch all too real following the groundswell of sexual assault and harassment cases coming to light.

The trailer reveals moments of impact expected in the coming season in faultless timing to evocative score of ‘For What It’s Worth’ uttered by the angelic vocals of Malia J.

The song, which you may detect at around 0:44 seconds into the clip, is a cover of the Buffalo Springfield song that was famously used as a protest song during the 1960s.

A fitting alignment considering the widespread opinion that the series has inspired a feminine resistance.

Premiering on April 25 with two new episodes, the second season is, according to Hulu’s official synopsis, “shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. ‘Gilead is within you’ is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season 2, Offred and all our characters will fight against—or succumb to—this dark truth.”

Hence why the trailer feels so airy and unsettling.

For those of you who aren’t keen to watch the trailer on repeat to dissect the information – we don’t blame you, it’s massively harrowing –  we see June (played by Elisabeth Moss) silenced by a brown leather muzzle and teary-eyed, Moira (Samira Wiley) as a refugee in Canada, a passionate moment between June and Nick (Max Minghella), and a row of people, including dearest one-eyed Janine (Madeline Brewer), being led to what appears to be The Colonies.

In an interview with EW, Elisabeth Moss depicted season two as the show’s most unpredictable plot-line to date.

“There is literally no way that anyone can guess what happens,” says Moss.

“You can try, but you won’t do it… We have no intention of doing anything else than being even more balls to the wall than we were in Season 1.”

You have our attention Moss, we’re listening.
