With a new, limited-edition collaboration of footwear and mini-bags, we look at everything you need to know about Paris Georgia x By Far.

First seen on the runway New Zealand Fashion Week, get ready to add this to your wish list; a dream collaboration from two of the most hyped brands in fashion right now, By Far has joined forces with Kiwi brand Paris Georgia to create an exclusive collection of footwear and handbags.

Paris Georgia x By Far combines nostalgia for the ‘90s and ‘00s with a contemporary feel, and features modern essentials like mules and boots, as well as two very on-trend mini-bags.

The range captures the distinctive kind of modern elegance that both labels embody – glamorous, nostalgic, a little raw. It’s the ultimate ‘cool girl’ look right now: she wears Glossier and slinky dresses, but her hair’s never too perfect. She always smells nice and has a cool bag, probably drinks natural wine, and will never use an obvious Instagram filter (unless it’s ironically).

The partnership couldn’t be a better fit, with its brand synergy and of-the-moment designs. Both labels have flourished on social media and fostered relationships with the right tastemakers – and both have been blessed with the approval of Vogue and a coterie of It Girls.

Paris Mitchell-Temple, co-founder of Paris Georgia, told us how the collaboration came about. “Valentina, one of the three founders was a customer of ours. We decided to meet in Paris during a business trip,” she divulges, telling us there was a sense of harmony right from the outset.

“We all got along so well and had so much in common – starting businesses at a similar time and aesthetically we really appreciate what each other are doing. It was a natural progression to start a collaboration together.”model in white paris georgia dress with with mini bag from Paris Georgia x By Far

It’s a major move for the local label, which has gone from strength to strength since friends Paris Mitchell-Temple and Georgia Cherrie launched the brand in 2016. Glamorous, modern and made in New Zealand, their designs aim to praise the female form.

What started as a line of refined essentials (originally called Paris Georgia Basics) designed to supplement Paris and Georgia’s vintage-focused online store The Mercantile, soon gained traction and international attention.

From there the range expanded and evolved – ‘basics’ dropped away – and Paris Georgia received acclaim from magazines, customers and celebrities. It was also named the Mercedes-Benz Presents designer of New Zealand Fashion Week 2019, and held their first NZFW runway show.

The brand has also been seen on the right people: Kiwi supermodel Georgia Fowler has been a supporter and friend since the beginning, and pieces have been worn by the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ciara, Lily Aldridge, Kate Hudson and Kendall Jenner (scroll down to see more famous PG fans).

Accessory brand By Far is beloved by fashion editors, influencers and consumers alike for its subtly executed throwback style. Their boots, strappy sandals and adorably chic mini-bags have become highly sought after – seen on the likes of Solange Knowles, Jeanne Damas, Bella Hadid, the Haim sisters and Kaia Gerber.

Founded in 2016 by twins Valentina Bezuhanova and Sabina Gyosheva, and their best friend Denitsa Bumbarova (who have Australian roots), not only do their designs scratch that nostalgic itch, their incorporation of sculptural block heels makes their offering highly wearable.

Gone are the days of taxi shoes; the new generation of heels acknowledge practicality, and still look cute. Handmade in Bulgaria, the brand also has a sustainable approach when it comes to their materials, utilising dead stock leather – making many of their items inherently limited edition.
