Stuck on what to wear to a festival this summer? Here are our editors top picks

Dance like there’s no tomorrow in these fresh festival threads handpicked by Fashion Quarterly...

As a hot and (hopefully) dry summer gets underway here in Aotearoa, festival season is imminent. Whether you like to dance till dawn or spend a mellow day basking in the sunshine, there’s something on the agenda in every corner of the country with events like Laneway, Golden Lights and Rhythm and Alps set to stage a return.

If you, like us, don’t officially get excited about a festival until you know what outfit you’re wearing, we have a few key pieces to inspire your personal style. Unlike most events, festivals are a prime opportunity to get a bit bold and experimental with your wardrobe — perhaps breaking out an ensemble you wouldn’t normally wear everyday. While each festival you attend will have a different aesthetic vibe to match, it also pays to factor in things like climate and comfort. (There’s absolutely nothing chic about sunburn).

Fretting about what to wear, or simply need a little dose of sartorial inspiration? It’s time to dust off those cowboy boots, pack a reliable hat, and get planning, as our editors round up the pieces they’re coveting for festival season.
