5 things we loved this week

Chloé’s Tomato Chair returns, Sala unveils its Sonar studio, Olivia Cashmore and Deadly Ponies' turn heads for winter, and BePure puts creatine on the map for women.

1. In the details

Deadly Ponies is back for Winter ’26 and we’re already mentally reorganising our wardrobes. At the centre of the collection is the return of the Burnish Capsule and, if you know, you know. Reimagined in a rich Jade, the hand-burnished leather is worked layer by layer to create subtle variation that feels lived-in from day one. Footwear steps up too, with new shapes like the Odin Boot and Cinch Pump. And yes, the Vault Family is expanding again – clutch, tote, mini – because one viral bag moment was never going to be enough.

2. Through it all

Rooted in an ongoing collaboration with her French pattern maker outside Paris, Olivia Cashmore’s latest collection continues her focus on how clothing is built and worn. At its centre is a reworked little black dress, shaped through panelled construction that follows the body and shifts between day and evening. Alongside it, relaxed tailoring and updated wardrobe staples extend her approach to clothing that moves easily through different parts of life, without feeling over-defined by occasion.

3. Haute tomato

A chair in the shape of a tomato caught our editors’ eye this week – and naturally, it’s Chloé. Unveiled at Milan Design Week in collaboration with Poltronova, the re-edition of the 1970 Tomato Chair by Christian Adam is playful and of course, poised. Under Chemena Kamali, its rounded, tactile form aligns with the house’s softer side – recreated in naturally tanned leather in four curated colors, cream, cognac, sand, and black, and released as a limited, made-to-order collector’s piece.

4. Sound on, noise off

Cult-favourite wellness studio Sala, has given us even more reason to attend our weekly reformer classes after the unveiling of Sonar – its newest, design-led Pilates space in Auckland. Expanding its Brown Street site, the studio introduces a more spacious environment shaped by sound, light and materiality, in collaboration with Angus Muir. Inspired by listening bar culture, Sonar favours clarity over intensity – an immersive, elevated space that reflects Sala’s evolving approach to ritual and community.

5. Not just for the boys

Wellness is having a bit of a creatine moment – and this time, it’s for women. New Zealand brand BePure has launched a daily powder designed to address the long-overlooked gap in women’s creatine levels, pairing it with magnesium for a better approach to energy, recovery and focus. Peach-flavoured and easy to add into your routine, it’s less about gym culture and more about keeping up with everything else – without running on empty.
