The Canadian outerwear brand is bringing its fashion-meets-function aesthetic to Commercial Bay this spring.

Arc'teryx will open it's first New Zealand store in spring 2026.

Arc’teryx has announced it will open its first New Zealand store at Commercial Bay later this year, bringing its globally recognised blend of alpine performance, minimalist design and fashion-world appeal to downtown Auckland.

Founded in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Arc’teryx has long occupied a unique position at the intersection of high-performance outdoor apparel, technical innovation and contemporary culture. Originally rooted within the alpine climbing community, the brand has since evolved into a global design powerhouse known for its precision craftsmanship, minimalist aesthetic and uncompromising approach to functionality.

The new Commercial Bay store will bring Arc’teryx’s signature blend of technical performance and elevated design to the local market, alongside Veilance — the brand’s luxury-focused extension favoured for its sleek outerwear, minimalist tailoring and quietly futuristic approach to city dressing.

“We’re excited to officially enter the New Zealand market with our first retail store at Commercial Bay,” says Bianca Bernadi, Arc’teryx Country Director ANZ. “New Zealand has a strong outdoor culture and an increasingly engaged customer base seeking premium technical apparel. Commercial Bay is a natural fit for the brand as we continue to expand our global retail presence.”

Arc'teryx's extension brand Veilance will also be arriving on NZ shores.

The Auckland opening follows the recent opening of Arc’teryx’s Sydney flagship inside the heritage-listed QVB building, further cementing the brand’s growing influence within both fashion and performance-wear spaces across Australasia.

For Commercial Bay, the opening signals continued momentum in positioning the waterfront precinct as a destination for premium international retail. “The brand’s global reputation for quality, innovation and design excellence aligns closely with the calibre of retailers we continue to attract,” says Andrew Trounson, Head of Retail at Precinct Properties.
