Beautify your winter wardrobe with Merchant 1948’s new botanic design that adds warmth and texture to any look.

3. Finalists named for iD International Emerging Designer Awards 2021

Finalist Grace Kelly's Eidê collection is influenced by minimalism, fluidity and imperfection

43 collections from 16 countries have been selected as finalists for the iD International Emerging Designer Awards in partnership with Otago Polytechnic.

A nod to the times, many of the collections focus on utilitarian and cosy themes and are also gender fluid.

The successful designers will now submit a video of their garments, shown to an international judging panel before the winners are announced at a gala movie premiere and runway show at Otago Museum on Saturday 19 June.

4. Yu Mei celebrates its third retail concept in Newmarket, Auckland

Yu Mei's new space at 8 Kent Street, Newmarket

Designed by Knight Associates, Yu Mei’s new space includes retail, lounge, gallery and event areas for both physical and digital experiences.

Provenance is important to Yu Mei founder Jessie Wong, being a third-generation Chinese New Zealander. Oamaru stone features on the plinths and shelving, sharing the same origin as Yu Mei’s signature deer nappa farmed in the deep south. Honeyed onyx marble is also used for its concentric veining, imbuing a sense of history.

5. Mindful brand Videris Lingerie designs maternity bra

A welcome addition to the Videris Lingerie range, the ‘Belle’ maternity bra features design elements unique to maternity lingerie.

A U-wire at the centre front accommodates natural fluctuations in breast size during pre and postnatal stages. Drop-down cups are key for easy nursing, and elastic straps are laid on top of soft Tencel fabric for maximum comfort.

The Belle is available for pre-order at viderislingerie.com
