Our skies might be dark and stormy but our weekday rituals shouldn't be. Perfect your weekend lounging formula with new arrivals from Mimmi Terra, Moin, Paneton, and more.

1. Weave together

Your weekend carry-all just got a chic and oh-so eco-friendly upgrade. Meet mimmi terra, the east coast Australian brand using recycled plastic puree to create durable, recyclable bags with timeless designs. There are so many beautiful colourways, shapes and sizes, we want to collect them all! Not only are they sustainable in form, they’re also sustainable by nature with each bag expertly handwoven by skilled artisans to deliver a strong, lightweight, and water-resistant tote that is built to last.

2. Euro vision

Self-care isn’t just a practice, it’s a lifestyle. And few things motivate a weekend spent indoors like lightweight and supremely soft loungewear basics to slip into. With inclement weather being the rule, not the exception, new elevated essentials brand Moin couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Their debut collection consists of eight thoughtful pieces, each made in a lightweight Seersucker (a textured fabric choice popular in Scandinavian fashion and textiles) which pays homage to founder Lisa Niemann’s upbringing in Northern Europe. Including effortless styles such as a wrap dress, shirt, cami and top, along with unisex shorts and pants, each piece is designed with a seasonless approach in a classic palette of fresh white, soft sand and ocean blue. Just add a face mask and a beautiful spread of fresh fruit and pastries and you’re practically abroad. Which conveniently leads us to our next item…

3. Sunday's best

In case you missed it (like we apparently did!), Paneton is now available at your local.  The beloved French bakery combining traditional techniques from France with quality New Zealand ingredients is available at Countdown supermarkets nationwide. Established in New Zealand by French pastry chef Dominique Colombie and his wife Celia Elder, Paneton has been offering premium breads and pastries since 1987. With techniques passed down from Dominique’s father who owned a patisserie in south-west France, these aren’t just any ordinary pastries. And now, with ready-to-bake and parbaked French pastries ready to slip into our weekly shop from the frozen section, we’re only 15-20 minutes of baking time away from a delicious and authentic pain au chocolate or almond croissant to exude joie de vivre on the weekends.

Paneton’s lineup of ready-to-bake pastries are available from all Countdown grocery stores across New Zealand.

4. Charm's way

The brainchild of two women we admire, Jasmin Scott (Jasmin Sparrow) and Lucy Pilkington, BON is a modern and meaningful jewellery brand that utilises sculptural charms to signify childhood memories, milestones and moments. With a view of creating modern day heirlooms for children, and their loved ones, BON’s selection of charm bracelets, chains, and birthstones are truly delightful. Each charm is 100% recycled silver or gold with ethically cultivated and sourced sea pearls and gemstones. But it’s not just the little ones that get to enjoy these endearing charms; BON offers necklaces and earrings for those that want corresponding charms to share with their young loved ones.

5. Suits you

New Zealand’s Harris Tapper dropped their Spring Summer 23 ‘Ritual’ collection this week and we’re already eyeing up pieces for our work wardrobes. The brand, which has always taken a refined approach to cultivate wardrobe classics, has built on their masculine tailoring to introduce pieces that offer easy elegance, subversive femininity and sculptural minimalism. Like their collections that have gone before, Harris Tapper’s ‘Ritual’ focuses on luxurious fabrications with multi-seasonal silk wool suiting, structured satins, and breathable feather-light cottons. And don’t even get us started on their core colours comprising Butter, Powder Blue, Oat, and Mushroom.
