Auckland Art Fair

A not-so-warm, and frankly, rather wet weekend is approaching.

You could stay at home – which does sound appealing, don’t get us wrong. But for those who would rather be out and about, here are a few things happening around New Zealand that will allow you to stay warm and dry.

The Auckland Fair
Attend the not-so-ordinary Auckland fair where the best of the best come together. The fair is filled with good quality, locally-made and handmade products with everything from homewares, design, ceramics, jewellery, and clothing. Find unique gems on an otherwise ordinary winter’s day.
When: Sunday 31 July. 10.00am – 4.00pm
Where:
Shed 10, Queens Wharf, CBD, Auckland
Admission:
 $5.00
Tickets:
Door sales only

Capturing Katherine Exhibition
Take a nostalgic look into the inspiration and memories behind well-known New Zealand writer Katherine Mansfield’s short stories at the Capturing Katherine Exhibition in Wellington.
When: Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July. 10.00am-4.00pm
Where:
Katherine Mansfield House & Garden, 25 Tinakori Rd, Thordon, Wellington
Admission:
Prices vary
Tickets:

Winter Wellness
This winter, Homestead will host morning wellness sessions with experts that will leave you feeling invigorated. This Saturday will be a Barre session run by Katie Swift, followed by a wholesome breakfast bowl – the perfect start to a winter weekend.
When: Saturday 30 July. 8.00am
Where: Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre, 72 Hillsborough Rd, Hillsborough, Auckland
Admission: $27.00
Tickets: www.eventfinda.co.nz

Paint ’n’ Sip, Social Painting
Drink wine and express your feelings outside of your home at this unique night out in Queenstown. Wine, food, art and good chat – a good way to spend a rainy evening, in our opinion.
When: Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July. 7.00pm- 9.00pm
Admission:
$65.00
Tickets: http://paintnsip.co.nz/

New Zealand International Film Festival
What better way is there to spend a cold winter’s day than watching films? The New Zealand International Film Festival returns this year to bring you an array of over 140 feature films and documentaries to enjoy across the country.

  • Showing in Auckland, we would love to see The Dancer, a film featuring French singer Soko and Lily-Rose Depp in an exquisitely-styled dance drama inspired by the true story of two rival pioneers of modern dance in late 19th-century Paris.
    When: Saturday 30 July, 1.30pm
    Where:
    Event Cinemas Westgate
    Tickets:
    Ticketmaster
  • Showing in Christchurch, High-Rise has captured our attention, not only because of the incredible costume and set design, but also because it stars Sienna Miller, channelling a character reminiscent of her Edie Sedgewick portrayal in Factory Girl, and current man-of-the-hour (but admittedly totally talented) Tom Hiddleston.
    When: Saturday 30 July, 9.00pm
    Where:
    Isaac Theatre Royal
    Tickets:
    ticketek.co.nz

The Auckland Food Show
For the foodies out there, the Auckland Food Show is one not to miss. With cooking demonstrations and a selection of good food, beverages and cooking gadgets, it’s been deemed a delicatessen, upmarket kitchenware shop and supermarket all in one.
When: Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July. 10.00am-6.00pm
Admission: Prices vary
Where: ASB Showgrounds, 217 Greenlane West, Epsom, Auckland
Tickets: www.foodshow.co.nz
