Visit: Maggie Marilyn's foray into Central Otago
For just two weeks, the coveteted local brand will provide a Central Otago respite from the winter elements — a ‘Home Away From Home’. Visitors can take pleasure in trying on clothes, sipping hot coffees and mulled wine, and relaxing after a day exploring what makes the region one of the most beautiful destinations on earth.
Designed by esteemed interior designer Katie Lockhart, the ‘Home Away From Home’ is housed in a spectacular private residence tucked away in the snow-capped mountains of Wānaka. Filled with a thoughtful curation of Maggie Marilyn ‘Forever’ styles, visitors will excitingly receive an exclusive first look at the newest capsule. Trusted ‘Somewhere’ winter essentials will also be on offer, including merino knits, cosy tracksuits, and the staple ‘Beyond’ puffer jacket.
Visit Maggie Marilyn’s Home Away From Home at 1 Atherton Place, Wanaka from 30 June to 13 July.
Support: La Mer Blue Heart initiative
We love it when our favourite brands give back, and each year when World Oceans Day rolls around on 8 June, we eagerly wait for La Mer’s limited-edition Blue Heart Crème De La Mer to be unveiled. At this time, the cult moisturiser gets a unique makeover in breathtaking collector’s edition packaging to celebrate World Oceans Day and mark La Mer’s commitment to preserving the precious ecosystem via the charitable Blue Heart initiative. Through the initiative, La Mer helps support the protection of marine habitats around the globe. One such organisation that La Mer works with is GreenWave — which scales regenerative ocean farming by teaming up with fishers, Indigenous groups and other under-resourced coastal communities directly impacted by climate change.
The collectable La Mer Blue Heart Crème de la Mer, $545, is available now for a limited time.
Admire: Deadly Ponies Recycle Collection
They say they’re pleased as (fruit) punch, and it’s easy to see why. The latest Recycle collection from Deadly Ponies is here, and it’s filled with flamboyant pieces that have drawn inspiration from the fruit bowl. Think a lemon charm pouch with a zip, or a pear-shaped AirPod holder. We also love their flip and snap wallet with an embossed cherry, the cardholder with a banana, and a card file with a juicy orange. The best part? Ten per cent of every purchase is donated to Friends of Sustainable Coastlines.
Indulge: The Chanel Les Beiges Summer in Grand Style collection
Winter might have officially arrived in Aotearoa, but the sun-drenched summer days are just beginning in the Northern Hemisphere. Whether a mid-winter getaway to a sultry clime is on the cards or not, we’re currently crushing on Chanel’s just-released Les Beiges Summer in Grand Style collection. The delightful extra-large Oversize Healthy Glow Highlighting Powder is on the top of our must-have list, and sun-kissed skin is just a sweep of the Chanel Oversize Kabuki brush away. The pearlescent, lightweight powder will instantly transform your complexion, shoulders, and decolletage.
The Chanel Les Beiges Summer in Grand Style collection is available now at Smith and Caughey’s.
Watch: Seven methods of killing Kylie Jenner
Strikingly original and provocative, Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner by 22-year-old London writer Jasmine Lee-Jones is a must-watch.
With electric performances from actresses Batanai Mashingaidze and Grace Bentley-Tsibuah, and skilled direction from Toi Whakaari alumni Keagan Carr Fransch, the play provides searing commentary on cancel culture, colourism, and queerness, alongside a dose of wickedly relatable humour.
