“It was bothering me a lot.”

In an unprecedented display of pure bad-assery, Russian tennis player, Sventlana Kuznetsova lopped off her plait mid-match at the Women’s Tennis Association finals in Singapore.

We’re not even exaggerating here – she literally just lopped it off herself. The 31-year-old asked for a break as she was beginning the third set of her match against Polish Agnieszka Radwanska. Then she asked for a pair of scissors and BAM.

“Every time I would hit a good shot, it would hit my eye every time and I had [to] struggle.” she explained, before posting a video of her mid-match makeover on her Instagram with the caption “Sometimes you gotta do it not by [the] best hairdressers… and not at the best time.”

It worked out for her, too. Not only did she end up looking amazing with her new lob, but she also won the match, looked bad-ass while doing it and of course, became our new favourite tennis player.
