A sleek and slick hair look was the way to go at the recent Andreas Kronthaler for Vivenne Westwood Paris Fashion Week show, letting the larger-than-life garments speak for themselves.
Iconic hair stylist Sam McKnight was the mastermind behind the clean and classic chignons, drawing on looks captured by influential photographer Helmut Newton.
Read on to replicate this look at home, which harnesses the power of the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer.
Step 1
Brush the hair off the face. Use a pintail comb to part from the centre or the side. Apply a generous amount of styling mousse to the hair, brushing it out neatly on either side of the parting.
Tip: for a daring look, opt for a deep side parting.
Step 2
Dry the hair from the roots with the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, using the Diffuser attachment. The attachment will disperse air evenly for an accelerated and natural drying effect.
Step 3
Tie the hair at the nape of the neck into a low ponytail. Twist the ponytail into a low chignon, securing into place with grips.
Tip: if you prefer to leave your hair down, first ensure your hair is dry. Then, straighten the lengths with the Dyson Corrale straightener and apply a smoothing cream to the mid-lengths.
Step 4
Lock the finished look in place with a firm hold hairspray.
