Te Puke designer Wynn Crawshaw will hold the spotlight with his first solo show at this year’s New Zealand Fashion Week.
What can we look forward to at your Contemporary Salon show?
For the Winter 2017 presentation you can look forward to a bold and confident colour palette. A very classical silhouette with a very diverse range of fabric and textures.
What is this collection called and what is your favourite piece from it?
The collection for Winter 2017 is called ‘Axminster’, after the classic 70s style carpet you might see in an old hotel. My favourite piece is a panel dress in gold with exposed baby locked seams belted at the waist.
This is your second time showing at NZFW, is there anything you are planning to do differently?
Last year I was in a group show, so this year at my solo show I will be able to tell a better story in the collection of 25 looks. I’ll also be able to create a real ambience around the clothes for the audience.
What will be your playlist behind-the-scenes?
Young Thug – Slime Season 3.
What are you most looking forward to at this NZ Fashion Week?
Seeing old friends and showing off the collection that myself and all the people I work with have worked so hard for.
How do you plan to relax after the week has drawn to a close?
Back to Te Puke with Mum and Dad.
