The Monaco royal family are known as much for their sense of fashion as they are for their royal titles.

The Grimaldis are the creme de le creme of the European elite – fashion’s first royal family if you will – with Karl Lagerfled on speed dial and Grace Kelly’s fashion genes in their blood.

Nowhere was this more evident than at the 62nd Rose Ball To Benefit The Princess Grace Foundation, held in Monte-Carlo over the weekend. Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover and a muse to Lagerfeld, oozed sophistication in a elegant satin jumpsuit and cape by Chanel, while Charlotte’s sister-in-law, Beatrice Boromeo-Casiraghi, made a striking statement herself in red ruffled Giambattista Valli gown.

‘La Bal de la Rose’ or the Rose Ball was first thrown in 1954 and was popularized by the late actress Grace Kelly who married Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Proceeds from the ball go towards supporting local artisans and those in need, and now under the auspices of Princess Caroline, it has expanded its activities to humanitarian aid, especially to hospitalized children and their families.
