It may not have been her first marriage, but that didn’t stop Miranda Kerr from picking an extravagant second wedding dress.

Employing the help of Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of Christian Dior, Kerr opted for a Grace Kelly-inspired haute couture gown to marry billionaire Snapchat-founder Evan Spiegel.

The nuptials were an intimate affair, taking place in front of a small gathering of friends and family in Kerr and Spiegel’s backyard in May. Details of the day have been few and far between, with the wedding dress remaining the biggest mystery of all – until now.

Kerr gave US Vogue a sneak peek into her dress fitting and spoke about the fairytale gown, confirming it was inspired by Grace Kelly’s famous long-sleeved dress for her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco.

“I’ve had a lot of fun with fashion, and I used to be more wild, free, bohemian,” she told Vogue. “But in this period of my life, my style is more pulled back. My greatest sources of inspiration have always been Grace, Audrey Hepburn, and my grandmother, who at 80 has an effortless chic: a nice pant, a white blouse, a scarf, a little heel.”

The high-necked satin gown was appliquéd with lilies of the valley and complemented with a striking pearl-encrusted headpiece designed by Christian Dior’s milliner Stephen Jones.

Kerr also took the time to demonstrate the low-key makeup look she opted for on her big day. No contouring or false lashes for this former Victoria’s Secret Angel; instead, she uses a lightweight foundation, a gentle dusting of powder and blusher and a tiny swish of mascara. If only we could all look so fresh and glowing with such minimal makeup!
