Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Christian Dior haute couture Autumn-Winter collection placed the detail and tactile nature of gorgeous hand-made textiles front and centre, from hand-loomed tweed, velvet prints, and feather embroidery to pleated silk gauze.
The garments were created amongst a new sense of post-pandemic purpose and energy—making for an emotional viewing by the individuals behind the collection.
The in-person show was also poignant, a way for the audience to return to the physical present and connect with intricacies not able to be appreciated via the virtual realm—a forlorn reality of the global pandemic.
