I was at an event recently when someone asked what on earth was inside my oversized bag. Fair question. Lately, it feels like I’m carrying my entire life around with me. Between appointments, meetings and events, I’m constantly moving around the city, so I like having everything I need within reach, including my laptop for those in-between moments when work has to happen on the go.
I recently tried the new Logitech Mobi Fold, Logitech’s first foldable mouse, and it has very quickly become one of those things I throw into my bag without thinking. My first impression was how light it is, which makes a difference when your bag already feels like it’s carrying half your house. Folded, it slips easily into a pocket and feels more like a sleek accessory than a piece of tech.
For something so compact, it’s genuinely practical. It glides smoothly across different surfaces, whether I’m working from a marble countertop, a café table, or even a shiny plastic tablecloth at lunch. I also love the ergonomic design. It feels thoughtful and elevated, without compromising on function, and the Bluetooth set-up is simple, which is one less thing to think about when I’m rushing between places.
I brought it with me for a busy day in Auckland, starting at Drake on Drake Street, which felt like the perfect first stop. While salon owner Jen worked her magic on my curls, I caught up on emails, replied to messages, and browsed online with a coffee in one hand, and my Mobi Fold in the other. I left with a fresh blowout (thanks, Jen) and a ticked-off to-do list (thanks, Mobi.)
Afterwards, I headed out for lunch and found myself pulling my laptop back out to jot down a few story ideas while people-watching between conversations. I’m always inspired when I’m out in the city, and I love being able to work when ideas come to me, rather than waiting until I’m back at my desk.
The last thing I thought I’d ever be accessorising with was a computer mouse, but the Mobi Fold somehow fits perfectly into my daily wardrobe, and even clips neatly onto my bag. It has become one of those everyday essentials that makes being constantly on the move feel a little less chaotic and a little more chic.
