The Hugo Spritz is the current cocktail favourite our editors are requesting on repeat. Here’s how to make it…

It's five o'clock somewhere! The Frozen Hugo Spritz — a euro summer favourite with a frozen twist.

It might seem counterintuitive having a frozen drink when temperatures are dim but trust me, when you’re rugged up with the heater blasting at 30 degrees, scrolling your #eurosummer infiltrated feed you’ll thank me. Just whatever you do, add the prosecco and sparkling water after you’ve blasted the ice and syrup to avoid spritzing the entire kitchen in a coat of Hugo.

The Frozen Hugo Spritz recipe:

Serves 1-2

Ingredients

  •  ice cubes
  • 60 ml elderflower liqueur
  • 200 ml sparkling prosecco
  • 150 ml mineral water (or club soda or seltzer),
  • a handful of mint leaves
  • juice of a lime

Method

  • Combine ice, elderflower syrup, lime juice, and mint leaves  ingredients in the Ninja Nutri-Blender Pro With Auto IQ using either the 700ml or 900ml cup depending on how much liquid you’d liked to add
  • Press the blend setting
  • Add mineral water and sparkling prosecco
  • Garnish with mint (optional)
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes (optional)

  • Do not add sparkling water, club soda, seltzer or prosecco to blender, always add after you’ve blended your other ingredients.
