Meet Kizzie Amoore, the fresh-faced 17-year-old taking the modelling world by storm.
You may recognise her as the blonde bombshell who walked for Harman Grubiša, Wynn Hamyln and Stolen Girlfriends club this year… We chat to the budding young star about her favourite makeup trends this season, her handbag essentials and her obsession with Doc Martens.
What do you love about fashion week?
I love how there are so many cool new designers and I am really loving the natural makeup – that is more of a personal thing. There have been some really amazing shows throughout the week.
What are some of your favourite shows you walked in for NZFW?
Harman Grubiša was incredible on Monday night, Wynn Hamlyn and Lucilla Gray were so much fun. It was incredible to work with Jimmy D for the K Road show as he is one of my favourite designers. They were all pretty cool really, it’s hard to pick just one!

What are your favourite trends this season?
I love orange and I am really digging how there are a lot of soft textures and things that are comfortable to wear. There is a lot of individuality coming through, especially in men’s fashion, which is really cool to see. There is a little bit of adoring coming through and it is a really fresh new look.
Which New Zealand designers are you loving right now?
Kate Sylvester, Jimmy D – I worked with him for the first time and it was mind blowing! I love Penny Sage.
How would you describe your personal style?
A bit weird. I like high waists and colour. I like to have fun and I use clothing as a form of self expression. It is really cool to have a way to kind of present how I am immediately in a first impression to someone.

Whose street style do you love?
I quite like looking online and at lots of different sources. One of my best friends, Xthane Brookes has the most incredible personal style – she just wears whatever she wants and she inspired me to just wear what I want, even if it’s a bit weird. As long as you wear it with confidence, you’ll look great!
What makeup trends are you loving this season?
Orange! I’m also liking the natural kind of look, it’s not super overdone. I really like warm tones around the eyes and the moody, berry lips also look really beautiful.
What are your go-to products in your handbag?
So I’ve got a little survival kit with me – I have hair oil by Corcoran Oil, an OPI peel off nail base coat which is really cool so I can just take off the nail polish after each show without nail polish remover – that’s really handy! I also use organic chia seed oil from Goodness after I remove my makeup to give it a bit of a boost and keep it nice and smooth.

What are you reading right now?
I usually just read different articles. I’m Jewish and I recently read a really good piece on anti-Semitism and anti-assimilation and this resistance against all kinds of oppression.
What stylists are you loving right now?
Imogen Wilson is really sweet and she has the cutest style. She has introduced me to a lot of my favourite designers, and I got to shoot with her for Nylon Japan which was so cool!
Sneakers or heels?
I’m more of a Docs girl, I’m obsessed with Doc Martens. I love their cool factor and that they never really go out of style.

What’s your ultimate holiday?
Probably London. I’m from there and all my family live there so not only do they have a really cool culture and lots of great food and shops, it is also close to home.
When did you move to New Zealand?
I moved over when I was really young, but I visit often and I am going back next year.
When did you start getting into modelling?
I was 13 when I signed and I started working at 14.
What have you learned so far throughout your journey?
I’ve definitely had to learn time management skills and social skills. I used to just sit in the corner of the shoot for like eight hours staring at everyone else because I was too scared to talk to anyone so I feel like I have grown in that way.

What are some of your highlights of your career so far?
I love working with Black magazine – I did this really cool shoot when I was 15 and it was a mosh pit theme. It was at the Golden Dawn and they had a DJ and all this food and it was really cool. I did a road trip for Remix magazine with Sophia Frankish who is one of my favourite models and we had a really fun time together, too.
What local hotspots do you love to go for lunch?
Anywhere that is cheap really, but I love Better Burger. I generally like to cook my own food and bring packed lunches.
What is something that no-one knows about you?
I used to play roller derby. I’m into lots of cooking, science and food technology.
