Take note, low ponytails are officially back en vogue according to Victoria Beckham - and we have the official how-to on recreating the look.

We have reported on the biggest clothing trends emerging from fashion month, but what was there to take note of in the way of beauty? This Paris Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham partnered with Wella Professionals and ghd on her SS24 show to create ‘Rich Shine’ — a glossy new hair look called that we’re all about.

Using ghd’s Duet Style 2-in-1 hot air styler to achieve the look – the very first 2-in-1 hot air styler from the brand that dries and styles at the same time without causing heat damage – lead hair stylist Anthony Turner gave each model a sleek, shiny low pony with an effortlessly cool vibe.

“The hair look this season is androgynous and confident,”  says Turner. “I wanted the hair to feel effortless and rebellious, turning the idea of femininity on its head and complementing each of the girls’ strengths.”

Below, we take you through a step-by-step tutorial on how you can achieve the look at home and the products you’ll need to do it.

How to recreate the ‘Rich Shine’ look:

  1. Prep your hair

Start by taking a generous amount of Wella’s EIMI Extra Volume Mousse in your palm and wetting the hair from root to tip. Add a spritz of Wella’s Sugar Lift Hairspray for added grit and texture and gently part the hair into a low, strong side-part using a comb.

2. Section and smooth

If you have thicker hair, part it into sections using clips and begin working the ghd Duet Style through each section starting at the nape of the neck. The styler’s patented Air-Fusion technology allows you to dry and smooth the hair at once, without the need for blow drying.

3. Create the shape

Once each section of the hair has been dried and straightened, take a ghd All-rounder Paddle Brush and begin brushing the hair to the back starting from the front of the head. Take your time and make sure there are no bumps in the hair before securing into a low ponytail at the back of the neck with a hair tie.

4. Set in place

Set your ‘do using a spray of Wella’s EIMI Mistify Me Strong Hairspray and add a touch of the brand’s EIMI Flowing Form balm to slick any flyaways back in place. Voila!
