My summer break destination is going to be…
My hometown of New Plymouth, where I’ll spend almost every day at the beach. Although (and this is kind of blasphemous coming from there), I’m not actually the hugest fan of west coast beaches – black sand and massive waves just aren’t my idea of a good time. So when I get back to Auckland I’ll be doing a few day trips in search of white sand and clear blue water.

What I’ll be packing…
My summer uniform of oversized white linen shirts and denim micro shorts, updated for 2015/16 with La Tribe pony hair slides and a Camilla & Marc beach bag.

What I’ll be reading…
I’m going to have another go at Gone with the Wind. It’s a book that I want to enjoy so badly – I’m pretty sure Scarlett O’Hara is like the Beyoncé of 20th century American literature. I’ve just never found the writing compelling enough to get me past the first fifty pages.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
Every December for the past 15 years my family has had to endure the Destiny’s Child Christmas album, and as long as I continue to be amused by lyrics like “on the eighth day of Christmas my baby gave to me, a pair of Chloé shades and a diamond belly-ring”, this won’t change.

On my Christmas wishlist…
I have a wedding to attend on New Year’s Day for which I (obviously) need a new outfit and I’m seriously considering one of Stolen Girlfriends Club’s panther tapestry dresses. So if Santa wants to hook me up that’d be great.

Swimsuit of choice…
I got instant swimsuit envy a couple of months ago when Poppy Delevingne instagrammed a pic of herself in a ruffled, off-the-shoulder Lisa Marie Fernandez bikini. I’ve been on the lookout for something similar ever since and this little Tori Praver number could be it – I mean, just imagine that with a level eleven tan.

My sunglasses pick…
Daily beach trips + wedding season means I’ll need a pair of sunglasses that are appropriate in both situations. Nailing the brief completely are these Celine New Audreys from Sunglass Hut.

My summer break destination is going to be…
It’s my first summer back in New Zealand after nine years and I can’t wait! I’ll be day tripping as much as possible to as many beaches as I can find and will spend an extended amount of time at friends’ baches in Mangawhai and the Bay of Islands.

What I’ll be packing…
Jurlique Rose Water Balancing Mist will be my go-to for post-beach skin hydration. My other beach must-have is a portable speaker –  I’ll be listening to my Spotify summer compilations on the Orbitsound Spaced360 Bluetooth Portable Speaker. And while I love flicking through all the mementos taken on my phone, nothing beats having little printed photographic reminders of good times. This Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera will be perfect for capturing my summer.

What I’ll be reading…
In all likelihood, something mindless and fun. But I have had Arianna Huffington’s book Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder on my reading list for so long that summer might be a good time to finally settle in and give it a go.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
Flume is such a good soundtrack to summer so I’ll be listening to that while I gear up for his appearance at Laneway Festival.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
They say that adding a plant to your workspace can increase productivity and add a sense of calm – so a few of these Chalk Design mini pots would look right at home on my desk at work.

Swimsuit of choice…
After committing to sporty, structured bikinis for the past few summers, I’m keen to embrace a more feminine swimwear style this year. I’m thinking this Zimmermann Lucia Embroidered Mesh Bikini.

My sunglasses pick…
I’ve been really into cat eye shapes for the last few years and would love to add these Miu Mius to my collection. However, it would be nice to try something different this summer and these Prada frames from Sunglass Hut would fit the bill nicely.

My summer break destination is going to be…
I’m keeping it low-key this year so I’ll probably spend some time in Whangamata at my parents’ bach.

What I’ll be packing…
My Citta Moza Wine Cooler for keeping snacks and drinks fresh at the beach, Havaianas Origine Espadrilles (a covered shoe, with the sole of a jandal – enough said), and a Tigerlily Hemera Maxi Dress – ideal for easy daywear that effortlessly translates to evening.

What I’ll be reading…
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn (author of Gone Girl and Dark Places). I’ve read all her other books and I know this one will be another page-turner, and probably pretty twisted and chilling too if the others are anything to go by.

Song I’ll have on repeat…
If I’m not sick of it by then (and at the rate I’m listening to it, I probably will be), ‘Cake by the Ocean’ by DNCE.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
Senso Xanthe I Mules.

Swimsuit of choice…
A Bec and Bridge Pandora Cross Over One Piece.

My sunglasses pick…
I may be keeping my destination low-key but that doesn’t mean my sunglasses will be. These glitter Miu Mius are so much fun!

My summer break destination is going to be…
Home! Oakura beach on the west coast of Taranaki, from where we’ll head east to the white sandy beaches of Whangamata.

What I’ll be packing…
My One Teaspoon denim shorts, an off the shoulder crisp white cotton top from Seed Heritage, my easy Benah for Karen Walker khaki bag (good for shopping hands free!), these amazing Karen Walker cat eye sunglasses and in my beauty bag, Elizabeth Arden Professional  Triple protection SPF 50, and St Tropez instant tan for a tan top up.

What I’ll be reading…
A friend gave me the new Vivienne Westwood book for my birthday which I’ll be taking to the beach, and I always need a stack of magazines for the holidays.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
I love listening to other people’s playlists as you always discover something new. FQ put together a banging playlist for Labour Weekend so I’m thinking we’ll have to do a summer holiday one too.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
I have been obsessed with the fragrance ‘Volume 1’  by The Beautiful Mind Series ever since I worked for Karen Walker where it’s stocked, so this year I’m bagging it. I’m also after a beach towel by Missoni, and if Santa is feeling really generous, this marble and brass side table from Weekend Trader.

Swimsuit of choice…
I’ll be getting myself a handmade crochet bikini by  Kiini, I just can’t decide what colour!

My summer break destination is going to be…
Home (Mount Maunganui) and Onemana beach in the Coromandel.

What I’ll be packing…
Tribe slides, a twentysevennames stripe linen top, and my trusty denim cut-offs for the day, and a Lucy McIntosh ‘Platform’ dress for evenings. My Rebe straw fedora and New York Yankees baseball cap will be essential accessories for providing sun protection and hiding crazy beach hair, and of course no summer road trip is complete without an AUX cord (and an excellent front seat DJ).

What I’ll be reading…
A pile of magazines that haven’t had a chance to read yet and for an easy summer read (recommended by Lucy Slight) The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, a page turning thriller I won’t be able to put down apparently.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
After having Justin Bieber’s Sorry on repeat for the last fortnight I think it’s safe to say that’ll still be high on my summer playlist. Should I ever get sick of that song though, any sort of hip hop or R&B will make my ears happy. My friend Maddy also has a great selection of playlists (named after her favourite foods) that are totally fail-proof.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect linen duvet cover, this one from Paper Plane Store is the ideal crispy natural colour.

Swimsuit of choice…
My Lonely Swim ‘Frankie’ bottoms and a brand-less bikini I picked up in Bali will both be on high rotation. I’ll be pairing them with my round Ray Ban sunnies for maximum impact.

My summer break destination is going to be…
A mix of Gisborne, Oakura beach (in Taranaki), and Northland.

What I’ll be packing…
Georgia Alice (GA all day!) white denim baggies and white bell-sleeve ‘Memories’ top. And definitely my Kindle.

What I’ll be reading…
Porno – the sequel to Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting.  It’s a re-read but I want to refresh my memory before the film is released in 2016. Also Wildflower by Drew Barrymore, Just Kids by Patti Smith, and Champagne Supernovas by Maureen Callahan.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
Banoffee’s ‘Ninja’, Yung Lean’s ‘Kyoto’, @peace’s ‘No Stars in the City’, Schoolboy Q’s ‘Studio’, and Outkast’s Pink & Blue.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
A ticket to Auckland City Limits.

Swimsuit of choice…
This O’Neill neoprene wet-look swimsuit.

My sunglasses pick…
Dior’s SoReal shades are the shape of the summer.

My summer break destination is going to be…
The Nel, which is short for Nelson. I’m going to my parents’ bach in the Abel Tasman. I will probably not get a bedroom because there’ll be like 20 people there, so I’ll camp on the lawn (I have a black tent, it’s one of those ‘scout’ ones made of canvas. You put it under a tree so it doesn’t get hot). Every day we’ll boat into the Abel Tasman and go tramping and kayaking, and we’ll play – what’s that cock thing you play on the grass? Shuttlecock? Badminton? I’ll also play cricket with my little nephews, although from 2pm onwards it will be with gin in hand.

What I’ll be packing…
I’m going to be wearing all white at all times, either all white linen or little white tennis outfits. I’m not even joking. And I’m really into visors right now so I’ll have lots of visors. I’m hoping to get one of those ones with a transparent peak.

What I’ll be reading…
The Beautiful and the Damned, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I’ve tried to read it twice now and I just cannot do it, but I’ll attempt it again and I will get to the ending, just so I can say I’ve read it. The idea of the book is really cool, I just don’t like any of the characters.

Songs I’ll have on repeat…
I have no idea. What’s that new Kanye song? You’ll have to get back to me.

One thing on my Christmas wishlist…
Le Creuset. I like to get one new piece of Le Creuset every year. Always white. I need two more sizes and then I’ll have the whole set. Do I use them? Never. I put them up on a shelf, in scale order. Actually I use one of them to boil water and that’s it. Adding to that, I really want wooden spoons. I’ve told all of my family to buy me interesting wooden spoons because I like the idea of having a Le Creuset thing with like, 50 wooden spoons in it.

Swimsuit of choice…
Zambesi’s cute little togs that we featured at the FQ Swim Show 2015.

My sunglasses pick…
You can’t beat a pair of Ray Ban Clubmasters. They look great with everything – particularly white linen.
