The FQ Fashion Awards returns this July to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements of the best in Aotearoa’s fashion industry.

After the success of our inaugural event in 2024, Fashion Quarterly is thrilled to announce the return of the FQ Fashion Awards in 2025 with a renewed sense of purpose and a more elevated vision. Set to take place in late July, this year’s red carpet event is back to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements of the best in Aotearoa’s fashion industry.

With a mission to support the diverse talents within the fashion industry, the FQ Fashion Awards serves as a platform to recognise creativity, innovation, and excellence across various categories. From groundbreaking fashion collections to captivating visual storytelling, the awards aim to showcase the best and brightest talents shaping the future of New Zealand fashion.

One of the key highlights of the FQ Fashion Awards is its inclusive approach which extends beyond fashion designers to honour the entire fashion ecosystem. This year’s event will also feature new categories such as Fashion Retailer of the Year, Footwear Designer of the Year, The Visionary Vanguard Award (honouring producers, art directors, graphic designers, assistants and other unsung heroes of the industry), People’s Choice Award, and more, celebrating the collaborative efforts that bring fashion visions to life across the generations of emerging and existing talent. See a full list of award categories below.

“We’re thrilled to announce the return of the FQ Fashion Awards – back for a second year and even bigger,” says Sarah Murray, Editor-in-Chief and owner of Fashion Quarterly. “The energy in the room at last year’s awards was electric – it was such a powerful celebration of creativity that we knew we had to do it again. This year, we’ve expanded our categories and judging panel to reflect the incredible breadth of talent in Aotearoa. These awards are about championing the people who shape, inspire, and move our fashion industry forward – from established names to emerging voices.”
