The weapon: Opt for a mascara with a thin or comb-like brush which will make it easier to reach the base of your lashes. When it comes to colour, try a chocolate hue rather than jet black as this will give a more natural appearance. “The trick is to ensure the fair hair is completely covered from root to tip,” Matson advises.

Wand magic: “The same rule applies to everyone with either fair or dark lashes – apply one coat if you want a natural lash look or two or more if you want statement lashes,” says Matson.
