Straight lashes

The problem: Your lashes poke out straight from your lid, making it impossible to achieve that ‘doe-eyed’ effect.

The weapon: “A small slim, spiral brush, a comb brush or a small plastic brush with spikes are good options; they’ll get the tiniest lashes,” says Matson.

Wand magic: A curling mascara is your best bet but you can intensify the curl if you use a lash curler too. “Start at the base then move curler in small increments up towards the tips for a natural bend, squeezing and holding for a 3-4 seconds as you go,” says Matson. Never use a curler after mascara; you can break your lashes.
