When is Drake going to stop declaring his love for female musos at awards shows?
Last night, Drake took out the award for Top Artist at the prestigious Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas – along with banking 12 other trophies, making him the official record-breaker for the most wins of in a single year – but that wasn’t the only scenario which got people talking.
Let’s just refresh our memories for a quick mo… Remember the 2016 MTV VMAs where Drake attempted to woo Rihanna on stage with a kiss, only to get rejected? We know, how could you forget, right?

Well this year he was at it again, but this time at the BBMAs and the lucky leading lady was none other than Nicki Minaj. Honestly, you guys, we can’t keep up either.
The ‘Passionfruit’ singer gushed over Nicki, calling the 34-year-old rapper the ‘love of my life’ during his acceptance speech for the top honor which was presented by Michael Jackson’s son, Prince Jr.
“I got the love of my life up here,” he said after thanking his father Dennis Graham and mentor Lil Wayne.
Earlier in the night, when he accepted his award for Top 200 Artist, the rapper said, “I want to say Nicki Minaj, I’m so glad we found our way back because I love you and I could never ever ever see it any other way!”
The two hitmakers have had a tumultuous, have-they-haven’t-they relationship over the years, with the duo falling out in 2015 when Nicki began dating Meek Mill. Since that relationship ended in January this year, Drake and Nicki have been spotted hanging out again and rumour has it that they’re working together on Nicki’s new album.
