Food emoji (h)

What’s not to love?

There’s nothing simpler than replying to a “What do you feel like for breakfast/lunch/dinner?” text with the exact emoji to match your food mood. But imagine if you could actually use emoji to order your food straight off the menu!

Well, imagine no more because a new Indian restaurant, Gaggan, in Bangkok, Thailand has taken this idea and made it a cool, Millennial reality.

The restaurant has taken out Asia’s Best Restaurant award for three years running – not just for their unique approach to ordering but also because the food is delicious, obvs.

The emoji-themed menu isn’t just a way for foodies to have fun way of ordering, it also gives diners a chance to try something new.

How it works? Well, a transparent menu is given to guests that allows them to order from 25 emoji. Then their order arrives as a mini serving of each dish.

guess what we will have in our 25 courses for the night! #cutestmenuever #asias50best #itsasurprise

After the courses have been served, a text-based menu appears which slides under the transparent emoji menu, and guests play a guessing game as to what they ate.

Sounds fun and delicious!
