Beach essentials

Look your best on the sand this summer with our pick of the products that can stand the heat.

When it comes to hot weather and cosmetics, hair and make-up artist Paige Best says less is more. “Make sure skin is well hydrated and don’t forget a broad-spectrum sunscreen,” she says. Investing in a sunscreen that is specifically designed for the face will ensure you can still apply your make-up. “Opt for a light foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturiser and sweep an illuminating bronzer over the high points of your face where the sun would naturally hit,” says Best. “For an extra boost, pop on a coat of fake tan the night before to fake that summer glow.”

Clockwise from top: Seafolly Bag, $106, from Hot Body. Tangle Teezer Detangling Wet & Dry Hairbrush, $28. Essie Nail Lacquer in Meet Me at Sunset, $23. Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer in Medium, $76. Clarins Multi-Active Day Lotion SPF 15+, $79. La Mer The Lip Balm, $120. Estée Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss EDP 100ml, $215.
