SJP rocks a ripped designer dress with the best accessory – a sense of humour.
In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Sarah Jessica Parker turned a major wardrobe malfunction into a total fashion statement.
SJP – every inch the style icon – appeared on the show in a beautiful teal velvet Alberta Ferretti gown with just a touch of lace at the neck.
But, while the star couldn’t have looked more elegant – and we would expect nothing less – she revealed her gorgeous gown, was in fact, ripped.
And no, we’re not talking ripped in a deconstructed way either.
Sarah Jessica admitted she’d ripped the dress herself (we presume accidently) and showed the host where it had come away from the shoulder seam.
“I love the dress. I borrowed it,” she explained. “This in no way reflects on the House of Ferretti.”
Most might refuse a television show appearance in a dress that was less than perfect; however, the Divorce actress embraced her ‘undone’ look.
“I kind of dig this. It does something to the dress,” she joked.
While actress is no stranger to strong sartorial choices, she did make a confession on the show to one major regret: her wedding dress.
SJP, who has been married to Matthew Broderick for 19 years, wore black instead of traditional white on her wedding day.
When Andy Cohen called her decision “badass”, Sarah Jessica wasn’t having it, saying if she could do it again differently, she would.
“Oh, I wish it was because I was badass. I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress. There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging.”
