It HAS to be liquid – I’m always so dismayed when I sit in a makeup chair and learn that the MUA only has powdered in her kit, to the point where I’ll duck into the bathroom right after I’m ‘done’ to swipe some lip-gloss across my cheekbones. MAC Strobe Cream

“Hello my name is Sally-Ann, and I am a MAC strobe cream addict. I have loyally worshiped at the altar of Strobe upwards of 12 years now. I have tried everything on the market, but for me; nothing compares or even comes close to this staple.

I use it over my full face after moisturiser and pre foundation and then I go back in, working a small amount on top of my base on top of my cheek bones and for evening on my top of my cupids bow. In summer I mix one part strobe and one part BB cream and wear that as a base on its own. Most days  I will also mix one part strobe one part body moisturiser to add shine to my shoulders arms and collar bones and legs.

My bathroom cupboard and travel wash bags are littered with half empty Strobe bottles.   I have been known to cut them open to get to the very last amount of product in the bottom of the tube.”

Namely Jaclyn Hill, hence my pick for this palette which features two glowing mineral blushes, one luminous, perfectly pink blush and two Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. (Don’t you just love how those names roll off your tongue?!) It is limited edition, but fear not because you can buy Champagne Pop on its own. However, this baby is GREAT value for money, the pay-off is incredibly pigmented and the powder is so finely milled. Girl, your highlighter will be so bright it might hurt people’s eyes. Just the way I like it.”

“Elizabeth Arden’s Limited Edition Sunset Bronze Prismatic Highlighter landed on my desk a few weeks ago and it’s been a mainstay in my makeup bag ever since. As the name would suggest, it’s the perfect pairing with a bronzed face for warm summer evenings and adds a pretty shimmer to your cheekbones, nose and temples. Using it in mid-winter when my face is a much whiter shade of pale, I’m having to be a bit more pragmatic with my distribution – note: a little goes a long way!
