Hot off the back of Dior’s Spring 2022 Couture show inside the Musée Rodin in Paris, white eyeliner made a dramatic entrance. Juxtaposed against an emphasis of woven, embroidered and embellished fabrics which were set to a backdrop of intricate tapestries by Indian artists Madhvi and Manu Parekh, the eyeliner brought an ethereal and other-wordly feel.
The light and luminous beauty look was produced by makeup artist Peter Philips who showcased a sharp, graphic eye utilising the white vivid white eyeliner. To masterfully draw on the strokes of white underneath the eye, Philips used the Diorshow On Stage Liner 001 matte white ‘extending it toward the inner and outer corners of the eye’. “Next, I applied a line of Diorshow Khol 009 white kohl to the waterline to accentuate this spotless white eye,” he says.
The standout liner was complemented with glowing skin, achieved by prepping the skin with Dior’s Capture Totale Intensive Essence Lotion and Super Potent Serum. Flaws were blurred with Dior Forever Skin Veil Primer and evened out with Dior Forever Matte Foundation. The result? An ethereal, fresh take on the graphic liner. It was a look that seemed so simple, but boy, did it make a statement in a way that classic black wouldn’t have been able to.
