Chloe Zara knows a thing or two about great hair. Over the years the hair guru has amassed a loyal following on her expertly curated Instagram account, and most recently Zara has launched her very own hair care line, Chloe Zara Hair. We caught up with Zara and asked her about her top tips for keeping hair shiny and healthy all season long.

A good hair day can be a real confidence booster. How can we ensure every day is a good hair day?

All you need to do is put five minutes of time into your hair each day. If your hair is styled from the day before you can add a drop of oil through your mids and ends to give your hair life and shine.  Even if you don’t have time to wash and style your hair, you can still achieve an effortless look, with a sleek pony or bun.

What are your top tips for keeping hair smooth and sleek over the summer months?

Hydration and nourishment is key! If your hair is dry and dehydrated that’s when you will see frizz. This is why it is so important to use nourishing products to add moisture which will help smooth frizz and seal split ends.

It’s also highly important to use products that contain UV and heat protection over the summer months. Nettle and green tea extract, which is used in Chloe Zara Hair, can help to fight and protect against oxidation and external aggressors such as pollution and harmful rays from the sun.

Chloe Zara Hair products also contain ingredients such as hemp seed oil – known as nature’s wonder oil. It has an amazing natural ability to moisturise and condition the hair. We also use mulberry extract which is rich in potent plant nutrients including vitamins A, C and E to help create healthier hair. They’re the type of ingredients that help keep hair healthy over the summer months.

Do you have a go-to hairstyle that’s perfect for in-between washes – particularly after a workout?

A sleek low bun always does the trick. You just need three things: dry shampoo, a soft-bristle brush and a gentle hair tie or scrunchie. I love this look with a centre part. Bush the hair into a pony, then twist the hair around to place it into a bun. The soft-bristle brush will give you a sleek and polished look.

One of my go-to tips with dry shampoo is  to always blow dry it into your hair after spraying. This way it will absorb sweat and natural oils, but it also takes that powdery look and feel away.

What is the one hair routine step that’s non-negotiable?

Always use heat protection products before using a hairdryer and irons! Or any hot tools for that matter.

What is the one hair myth that you wish everyone would stop falling for?

That you need to wash your hair every day! You simply don’t need to. The other one people often fall for is that hair oil makes your hair greasy. It doesn’t – you just need to use it correctly.
