1. A final moment with Rachel Mills
Rachel Mills is hosting a workroom sale this Saturday, 9th May, at her Mt Eden studio, marking a final opportunity to shop pieces from the iconic New Zealand label as it winds down. Running from 9am to 2pm at 19 Carrick Place, the sale will include samples, seconds, fabric, trims and workroom machinery, offering a rare glimpse into the brand’s design process. The sale is cash only, and it’s a final chance to take home a piece of Rachel Mills’ influential world.
2. Sleep on it
RAESO’s Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask taps into the idea that skin works hardest while we rest. Designed around the skin’s natural night rhythm, the three-phase formula releases active ingredients gradually, meeting each stage of repair as it happens. It’s an easier approach to overnight treatment, focused on timing rather than overload. The texture is soft and weightless, melting in without trace, leaving skin looking fresher, calmer and well-rested by morning.
3. All that she is
For Mother’s Day, Partridge’s Facets of Her campaign turns its lens to the evolving nature of motherhood today. Across four families, the series captures moments of transition, connection and identity, from new motherhood to chosen family. Told through intimate interviews and portrait-led storytelling, each woman shares her own perspective on what it means to nurture and be nurtured.
4. From archive to now
H&M and Stella McCartney reunite twenty years after their first collaboration with a new collection launching 7 May. The release looks back across McCartney’s 25-year archive while reworking signature codes into the present, including classic tailoring, oversized shirting, bejewelled prints and early slogan pieces. Accessories echo the house’s most recognisable details, including Falabella chain accents and recycled metal finishes. Shot in London, the campaign frames ‘&Stella’ as a link between past, present and future. The collection will be available at H&M Commercial Bay.

5. Sunday sounds
Nathan Haines brings four decades of New Zealand jazz history to Queens Rooftop this May for a special NZ Music Month residency. Curated entirely by Haines, the Sunday afternoon series marks the venue’s first live music programme, unfolding across four weeks above the Waitematā. Each session pairs live performances from collaborators and protégés with Haines’ own vinyl DJ sets, offering a rare, personal portrait of his musical world. Free entry, harbour views, and music that tells its own story.
The programme:
- Mother’s Day, 10 May — Elisa (Rachel Clarke) Her voice runs through several Haines records — including Belo Dia. Hearing it live, in this setting, will be something truly special to take mum to.
- 17 May — Coco Charles Sold-out shows, a debut album produced by Vivek Gabriel on the way. One of the most compelling young voices in the city right now.
- 24 May — Joe Kaptein Trio Core member of Haines’ live band. One half of electro-jazz project Soft Chaos, whose debut drops internationally later this year.
