5 things we loved this week

27 November 2025
By Sophie de Renzy

This week, a new era of Zambesi retail opens, Naveya & Sloane brings festive gifting to life, and Aleph makes clean beauty effortless.

1. Summer escapism

State of Escape has launched the Meridian Collection, the brand’s first permanent line in years. The Tote, Midi Tote and new Shoulder Bag are all made from a single knit, keeping the design simple and reducing waste. With staple colours Black, Crema and Hazelnut, each bag folds flat for storage and is machine washable. Meridian is practical, easy to wear and built for everyday life, carrying everything you need without fuss.

2. A new era

Zambesi has officially opened its new store at Commercial Bay, bringing the brand’s womenswear, menswear, accessories, and NZ-made exclusives into a space designed by Marissa Findlay with Dada Studios. The pared-back concept balances past and future, reworking familiar details alongside new finishes. The store also features curated designers including Acne Studios, Maison Margiela, Rick Owens, and NOM*d, all reflecting Zambesi’s enduring design perspective. Visit now on the ground floor of Commercial Bay.

3. One pencil, endless possibilities

Transitioning to clean beauty? Aleph makes it simple with the new Multi-Use Liner Pencil. Designed for eyes and lips, it moves from precise lines to softly smudged colour in five wearable shades – Noir, Umber, Fig, Blush and Nude. Made from organic, vegan ingredients and fully plastic-free, it nourishes as it defines. Layer with Aleph’s tints or pigments to create personalised, everyday looks with minimal products.

4. ‘Tis the season

This December, Naveya & Sloane opens its Gifting Suite to walk-in visitors, offering a curated selection of jewellery designed to be worn, loved, and gifted. Visitors can sip MiruMiru wine while browsing the collection, and for last-minute presents, the Audi Concierge Service delivers pieces within Auckland or brings a handpicked selection straight to your door. The gifting suite is open until December 23rd in the Auckland and Christchurch showrooms.

5. In motion

Introducing Saben’s High Summer 2025 collection. Bestselling styles Claudette and Coco return in soft suede with subtle fringing, while other favourites – including Fifi, Milan, Winona and Parker – are reworked in croc emboss for a little more structure. The mix of textures keeps it easy to wear yet unexpected. With versatile colours, the collection feels made for both slow summer days and the moments that pull you outside your usual rhythm.
