5 things we loved this week

By Fashion Quarterly

From Scandi chic style and self care essentials to Longform's first pop up, here is everything the FQ team is coveting this week.

1. Scandi chic

Last week, Copenhagen Fashion Week dominated our feeds, serving up serious Pinterest board fodder in the lead-up to the return of New Zealand’s own fashion week. Think layered lace, silk scarves knotted at the neck or slung as belts, perfectly mismatched prints (proof it can be done), and effortlessly relaxed suiting. But the chicest (and most common) accessory of all? A bike of course.

2. Longform in the city

Longform marks its first-ever pop-up with a week-long residency at The Pavilion, Britomart, 11–17 August — offering the public a chance to experience the debut Foundation Edit in person. Founded by Des Rusk, the collection blends Aotearoa’s merino heritage with Japanese design philosophies and workwear practicality, offering timeless, tactile staples from boxy jackets to wide-leg pants. Crafted from ethically sourced ZQ-certified merino, each piece is designed to evolve with you. So, pop in and meet the founder, feel the fabrics, and explore a new era of slow, considered style.

3. Step into self care

Birkenstock steps beyond iconic footwear with the launch of Care Essentials — a new, all-natural foot care range now available in Aotearoa. Developed in Germany and rooted in the brand’s heritage of orthopaedic expertise, the five-piece collection blends active recovery with at-home indulgence. Formulated from 100% natural, vegan ingredients, Care Essentials offers a three-step ritual — Relax, Exfoliate, Care — to restore balance, relieve fatigue, and revitalise skin. From essential oil-infused Relaxing Bath Salts to the Nourishing Foot Balm, this range offers  a sensorial and indulgent approach to foot care.

4. Everyday rituals

In need of a little at-home indulgence? Perrault introduces three fresh Spring/Summer ’25 shades to Magniberg’s luxurious Gelato bath range: vibrant Goji Red, earthy Olive Green, and serene Sloe Blue. Woven in Portugal from heavyweight 625 GSM organic cotton, Gelato towels are celebrated for their plush yet clean terry, crafted from twisted long-staple yarns for exceptional softness and durability. The new hues join the existing gelato-inspired palette of Nicciola Beige, Coconut White, and Fragola Pink, alongside the debut of the Gelato bathrobe — a relaxed, hooded silhouette offering the same indulgent weight and meticulous detailing for elevated everyday rituals.

5. Bounce back

Thin hair meets its match with Bouf, the bold new haircare brand from beauty entrepreneur Rachael Wilde. Created to tackle everything from bald patches to postpartum fallout, the five-piece range is powered by patented technology, clinically proven to keep hair in growth mode longer, strengthen strands, and reduce hair loss by up to 82%. The standout product? Flouf Factor Growth™ Tonic, a sell-out success in Australia, loved for its concentrated, leave-in formula. Born from Wilde’s own hair loss journey, Bouf blends science and style to create bouncy, confidence-boosting hair.
