5 things we loved this week

We’ve tiptoed into June and winter is officially here. This week we’re taking stock of what our bodies need as we acclimate to the shift in season. Discover what’s new and noteworthy below.

5 Things Our Editors Loved This Week

1. Root cause

The latest chapter – the Cascade collection – from sustainable local designer Ovna Ovich has graced us with their oh-so-zen presence this week. Earthy colours like Chestnut, Mushroom and Grass are realised in delicate fabrications such as cupro and tencel, which feel utterly soft on the skin, and are complemented by the brand’s hero materials of merino jersey and merino possum blends. With Cascade comes optimism – by way of colour and its commitment to responsible manufacturing. Tote bags, socks and, dare we say it, the divisive yet fashionable scrunchie, all add an extra oomph to Cascade, adding a finishing touch to the effortlessly styled looks for the season.

Available online and through select New Zealand retail partners from May 30th, 2023.

2. Healthy boundaries

Being modern women, we’re often exposed to the detrimental effect of oxidative stress (and just stress in general) from our urban environment on our skin. Helping counteract these aggressors during wintertime comes Aēsop’s Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Intense Serum. When applied in the morning, the serum creates a breathable film that provides an environmental barrier, while at night, the lightweight serum works hard to deliver impressive anti-oxidant benefits to give our complexions some much-needed hydration. Aēsop’s Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Intense Serum is a worthy contender for our highest-performing winter skin quenchers.

Aēsop’s Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Intense Serum, 60ml, $133. Available to shop in-store and online.

4. You’re cute jeans

We’re never short of reasons to visit the Queenstown region in winter but with Calvin Klein’s first lifestyle store set to open on Rees Street, we’re fresh out of excuses not to book that trip. The expansive store houses practically everything under the Calvin Klein banner – underwear, jeans, performance, kids, menswear, womenswear, and even accessories and footwear. The store’s design has been deliberately kept minimal inline with the brand’s modern aesthetic, fusing concrete and wood for a refined and contemporary shopping experience. Prefer Tommy Hilfiger’s vibe? Perfect, they’ve moved in right next door.

Visit the Calvin Klein lifestyle store at 11-15 Rees Street, Queenstown, New Zealand.
