Beauty on our doorstep
As the peaks surrounding Queenstown are covered in a new coat of snow, this adventurous destination gets a renewed energy, much like our own winter wardrobes when we introduce new and stylish pieces to keep us warm.
Here’s where to enjoy the finest winter menus and wines.
Amisfield Vineyard & Bistro
Ask anyone where to book for a meal in Queenstown and the answer will most likely be Amisfield. The winery and restaurant offers hospitality like no other in a romantic schist building with a fireplace longer than most rooms. The ‘Trust the Chef’ menu is legendary for its seasonal creations made to challenge and conquer your senses.
Jack’s Point Restaurant
With an impressive view of the imposing Remarkables mountain range, Jack’s Point Restaurant could be forgiven for relying on its beautiful grounds alone. But this newly rebuilt restaurant is not one to rest on its laurels. It offers gourmet food with impeccable presentation and world-class service. We suggest a very long lunch here.
Wet Jacket Wines
There is something to spark the interest in all of us at Wet Jacket Wines’ cellar door, nestled in a former woolshed. Paired with Whitestone cheese from its own Cheese Aging Room, the Wet Jacket tastings unlock the history of the surrounding land, just a short distance from Queenstown.
Cargo Brewery & Waitiri Creek Wines
In Gibbston wine country, the cellar door of Waitiri Creek Wines has found a new home with Cargo Brewery, where wood-fired pizza and rustic tasting plates are served in a picturesque church-meets-restaurant for a novel night out.
