4 cocktails to warm up your winter

From classics to new creations, these cocktails are sure to warm up your August.

Apricot sidecar

After a contemporary twist on a popular classic? Revolutionise your taste buds with this apricot delight. 

Ingredients

1 ½-parts Basil Hayden’s bourbon whiskey

1-part Bols Triple Sec liqueur

1/2-part lemon juice

1 bar spoon of Anathoth Farm Apricot Jam

Lemon twist (for garnish)

Method

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until apricot jam is fully blended, strain into a glass, and garnish with a lemon twist. 

Blood orange margarita

Subtly sweet and tangy, quench your thirst with this flavourful take on the loved margarita. 

Ingredients

30ml Mezcal / Tequila

15ml Lime juice

15ml Campari

60ml Bootleggers Blood Orange tonic water.

Blood orange slice (for garnish)

Method

Gently shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, then strain into a glass with ice—salted rim optional. Garnish with a slice of blood orange. 

Calamansi sour

Elevate your palate with this refreshing and sour tipple, featuring an aromatic and earthy gin from Shanghai, China. 

Ingredients

45ml Peddlers gin

25ml lemon juice

20ml sugar syrup

5ml egg white

Method

Add all ingredients into a cockail mixer and shake for one minute. Then add ice, and shake until cold. Double strain and garnish with your citrus of choice. 

Rouge Daquiri

Sweet and fresh, here’s a delicate infusion of ingredients that offers both warmth and spice.  

Ingredients

60ml Honest Six Spiced Botanical rum

15ml lime juice

30ml pomegranate juice

Dash of grenadine 

Pomegranate seeds (for garnish)

Method

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice, shake and strain into a coupe glass.
