Shop: Moochi Palette 3 Galleria

Moochi 'The Trenchie'.

We adore a classic collection with a contemporary edge, and ‘Galleria’ by Moochi is the convergence of art and clothing, featuring muted earthy tones, nonchalant silhouettes, and experimental layers.

Captured by photographer Apela Bell, the Galleria campaign was brought to life at Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary Gallery, a space that embodies the collection’s sophisticated yet grounded spirit.

Highlights include the return of the oh-so-popular Moochi trench coat in a tawny checkered pattern, classic black one-shoulder necklines, and relaxed suiting in the dreamiest sage green colourway.

Shop Moochi Palette 3 Galleria at moochi.co.nz, with new styles dropping each week until August.

Visit: Whānau Mārama at Commercial Bay

Te Ara Minhinnick’s (Ngāti Te Ata) Mō Rātou Mā sculpture at Yu Mei, Commercial Bay.

Whānau Mārama, facilitated by artist Jade Townsend, returns to Commercial Bay for the second year running in celebration of Māori artists over the Matariki observation period.

Inside the precinct, you will discover art displays, objects, and moving images that reflect Indigenous ways of knowing and being, all connected to the Matariki star cluster.

Exhibitions this year include Maungarongo Te Kawa’s (Ngāti Porou) work Hinetakarua, a large-scale textile in the Wheriko laneway. And fashion designer Dr Bobby Luke (Ngāti Ruanui, Taranaki) of Campbell Luke will take residency in the Nook pop-up space to explore the decolonisation of fashion aesthetics.

Visit Commercial bay until 10 July to view the exhibition, and join a free art tour starting at Season Gallery daily at 12.10pm.

Covet: Meadowlark's Lucia collection

Evie Ashby wears the Meadowlark 'Rose Pearl Drop' earrings and Claudia Li leather 'Neck Bow' bomber, as seen in Fashion Quarterly Winter 2022. Photography: James K Lowe. Styling: Courtney Joe. Hair & make-up: Virginia Carde. Photography assistant: Katherine Lowe.

Meadowlark’s second drop of ‘Lucia’ launched this week, and we’re especially admiring the rose-inspired pieces. The collection showcases romantic and vintage-tinged treasures with the humble rose as the star.

We have our eyes on the rose pearl drop earrings, featuring milky baroque pearls suspended from fallen roses that are available in sterling silver, plated gold, and 9-carat yellow gold.
