Be prepared to take on the gym like a fearless warrior.

If you’re tired of hearing ‘summer bodies are made in winter’ as a motivating refrain from well-meaning mates, but need a bit of help to get moving, it’s time to turn to Wonder Woman for some #badass inspo.

Gal Gadot – breakout star of the hit movie – showed us all that brains, beauty and a strong body are a mighty combo. Add a healthy dose of feminism to the mix, and we’ve got a sister with the power to influence women and girls everywhere.

So, what does it take to go from svelte star to shredded athlete? We take a look Gal’s food and fitness regime in the lead-up to the action flick’s shoot, and dish on how the hell she got those incredible biceps!

It doesn’t happen overnight…

Ok, so this is our way of saying you’re going to need to be prepared to work your booty off. Gal didn’t start out as Wonder Woman, she became her.

According to reports, the hard-working actress spent six loooong months slogging it out to get physically ready for the role, and that was with Hollywood’s best personal trainers and nutritionists.

If we’re taking anything from Gal’s dedication, it’s this: Work hard and you’ll succeed.

Time + effort = reward

Seems like a no brainer, amirite?! But here’s the thing, Gal just didn’t show up for an a hour a day a couple of times a week, she made it her full-time gig and trained six hours a day, over a six month period. She admitted her schedule was tough on Live with Kelly and Ryan, saying: “I did two hours gym work, two hours fight choreography, and two hours horseback riding. Which is super hard.” We agree.

While Gal was obviously fit before she began her training for the role, the intensity wasn’t at a super high level. The Israeli-born actress told Harper’s Bazaar“In my ordinary life when I don’t work, I like to paddle board and do TRX.”

Reach for the top! 💪 #flashback #weekend #fun

Diet makes a difference

We’re not talking diet as in restricting food intake; we’re talking about eating well-balanced meals that have as much protein as they do greens.

Star trainer Hayley Bradley revealed how she helped the actress get in shape, telling Instyle: “Balance each meal with equal amounts of protein and greens, and to be wary of seemingly healthy choices like green juice, which can be highly caloric thanks to the large amounts of natural sugars in some fruits and veggies.”

But remember, food is not the enemy

The reason why Gal is Wonder Woman isn’t just because of how great she looks but probably also because she has an amazing attitude, and this extends to food, which can be a problem for so many.

“I love to experience food, but at the same time I look at food as fuel and I want to give the best to my body,” she explained Harper’s Bazaar. “So of course I have my bad things that I eat like burgers or ice cream with chocolate. I don’t restrict myself, I can eat everything.”

While the actress admits to measuring the quantity of food she eats, she says she’s careful to be mindful, preferring not to eat while driving or talking on the phone.

“Just give the food the respect and give yourself the respect to enjoy it.”
