Sun-kissed cheeks scream summer, and fortunately, you don’t have to go out in the sun to achieve this look. In fact, it’s as easy as ‘draping’ the colour across your cheekbones.

Now, if you haven’t heard of ‘draping’, don’t worry, as it’s relatively easy to achieve. Draping is the technique of contouring your face to enhance the angles of your face with blush. Mecca Makeup educational lead Ashleigh Fenton says it’s one of her favourite ways to take a look from day to night, sharing how:

“To achieve this youthful and radiant look, apply blush on the temple area, draping it down the sides of the eyes and across the cheekbones,” she says. “If you’re trying this out for the first time, I recommend using the Hourglass ‘Ambient Lighting Edit – Universe Unlocked’ palette as the powder formulation can be more forgiving and easier to blend.” Alternatively, opt for a cream blush that will blend seamlessly into your skin.

If you want to go a step further, Fenton says that using two different blush pigments (layered on top of each other) can help to create more dimension in your look.
