As the countdown begins to the Victoria’s Secret 2017 fashion show, we bring you the buzz on the Angels, the location and the highly anticipated Fantasy Bra.

Traditionally the event has been held in fashion capitals around the world including Paris, London and New York, but this year the Angels are jet-setting to Shanghai. The official show date still remains a secret but with the footage airing in the US on November 28, it’s a safe bet the filming will take place no more than a week earlier.
The Angels and the models:
All your long-legged favourites are back including Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Liu Wen, Taylor Hill & Bella Hadid. Karlie Kloss makes a return to the runway along with Candice Swanepoel, who will be showing off her, no doubt, envy-inducing post-baby body. The main absentee this year is Kendall Jenner, who pulled out due to her contract with lingerie company, La Perla. Key newbies to watch out for include Aiden Curtiss, daughter of acclaimed model Katoucha Niane, and the brilliant red hair of British beauty Alexina Graham. New Zealanders Georgia Fowler and Stella Maxwell will also resume their wings. All up, a total of 14 official Angels, 31 returning models and 16 newcomers will walk down the runway.

While the performers still haven’t been announced, there is no shortage of rumours and we already have our top picks. Dream scenario #1) Harry Styles performing as rumoured Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend Camille Rowe walks down the runway. Dream scenario #2) Zayn Malik crooning as his model girlfriend Gigi Hadid struts her stuff. Dream scenario #3) Ultimately we have our hopes set on seeing The Weeknd return and woo back former girlfriend Bella Hadid following his alleged split with Selena Gomez. Taylor Swift is also rumoured to be performing.

We’ve already been inspired by the regular updates on the Victoria’s Secret Instagram via their #TrainLikeAnAngel motivation. Common routines of the models include the popular Ballet Beautiful programme, yoga and boxing. The overall Angel boot camp motto: eat clean and train hard.
The Fantasy Bra:

The million dollar bra is an honour usually given to a long-standing member of the VS family – and this year is no different. Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro was surprised to discover she was chosen to wear this year’s Fantasy Bra. However, with a modelling CV that includes Super Bowl ads and seven years as an Angel, we weren’t surprised at all! The Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra contains more than 600 carats of diamonds, yellow sapphires and topazes and will be on show in all its glory in Shanghai. Who said diamonds weren’t a girl’s best friend?
The Swarovski look:
The glitz and the glam doesn’t stop with the Fantasy Bra this year with VS celebrating 15 years of working with Swarovski crystals. As a part of the celebration, one million (yes one million) crystals will appear in the Shangahai show with Elsa Hosk selected to lead the charge in an outfit consisting of 275,000 crystals, woven ribbon and hand beaded jewellery. Elsa’s wings alone weigh a hefty 6kgs and are one of the heaviest wings in VS history.
The costume collaboration:
This year’s show features an exclusive collaboration with Balmain’s designer Olivier Rousteing. In a teaser clip posted by the designer on Instagram, the Balmain x VS looks appear to include key aspects of the Balmain aesthetic. Sexy silhouettes abound with leather, studs and fishnet. And with several Angels already conscripted in the Balmain Army, we can’t wait to see who and what exactly comes down the runway!
