Victoria Beckham reveals the best food to eat to get glowing skin

It’s a given great skincare is built on the basics: cleanse, tone and moisturise, but, as it turns out, eating the right food can make a difference too – and if Victoria Beckham’s perfect skin is anything to go by, we’re convinced.

In a recent interview with The Edit, the 42-year-old fashion designer revealed her LA-based dermatologist, Dr Harold Lancer – who she swears is incredible – sorted out her skin problems with this simple recommendation: to increase her omega-3s.

“I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day.’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.'”

While it might be a bit hard to imagine eating salmon every single day it’s worth thinking about the benefits to your skin.

Science backs up the theory that salmon and other fatty fish are full of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and C. What this means is that not only is the skin’s oil production regulated, which boosts hydration, but the skin’s aging process is also delayed which staves of wrinkles.

As well, studies have shown there’s also a link between eating a diet rich in fish and vegetables and also significantly reduced acne. Other studies have shown it was possible salmon prevented bad skin breakouts all together.

So, if there was ever a reason to keep the fridge stocked up on smoked salmon, we think we might have just found it!
