It’s time to don your best aspirational resort wear (think billowy kaftans, dramatic prints and skin-baring swimwear) and pour yourself an elaborate cocktail, because the highly anticipated third season of HBO’S The White Lotus is returning to Neon tonight. This season’s location? Thailand.
While best known for its envy-inducing tropical locations and signature blend of social satire, opulence, and scandal, it’s the fashion that we will have our eye on. With costume designer Alex Bovaird returning for season three, the show is set to continue it’s trend of luxe, destination-inspired fashion, blending high-end resort wear with a relaxed, yet refined sensibility. Expect bold, statement-making pieces with eclectic combinations of rich textures and vibrant colours.
Following the viral fashion moments of past season’s, the Emmy-award winning show has partnered with H&M to create a 25-piece resort collection “imbued with the colours of Thailand and the essence of the characters in this season.” Arriving in select stores from February 20th, it features summer dresses with vibrant prints, matching sets in crochet and lace and eclectic swimwear.
In true White Lotus fashion, this season’s ensemble cast is stacked with powerhouse names, including Posey Parker, Walton Goggins and Lisa from BLACKPINK. But it’s the casting of New Zealand actress Morgana O’Reilly that has us most excited. O’Reilly plays Pam, who she describes as a “delightfully passive aggressive” health butler intent on keeping her hotel digitally detoxed.
“From the moment the audition notification came through, to flying to Thailand and being immersed in the opulent and chaotic White Lotus world, to walking my first Hollywood red carpet last night, it’s felt like a thing of dreams,” O’Reilly said of her experience.
