Foodies, you’re in for a treat!
Exciting news food fanatics: the World’s 50 Best Restaurants have been unveiled for 2017 and there is a new number one.
The list, revealed at an awards ceremony held in Melbourne this week, features an array of top eateries from all corners of the globe.
Taking out top spot was the pricey Eleven Madison Park in New York. The $295 per head Manhattan restaurant not only took the top prize for the World’s Best Restaurant, it also scooped first place for the Best Restaurant in North America too.
The win for Eleven Madison Park pushed last year’s winner, Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, to second place. Last year’s second place winner, El Celler de can Roca in Girona, Spain, fell to number three.
The restaurants were judged by an ‘academy’ of over 1,000 industry experts, including chefs, restauranteurs and critics, who voted across 26 regions.
