The Facialist’s guide to an at-home facial workout

If you’re looking to define your jawline, sculpt your cheekbones, and lift and open the eye area, here are six simple steps you can take every day, courtesy of beauty entrepreneur Ashleigh Scott. All you need is a clean face and your favourite facial oil. 

Step 1

Taking a few drops of facial oil in the palm of your hands, press your palms into your face. First, focusing on the jawline, use the back of your hands while pressing firmly in an outwards direction to smooth out the chin and create definition to the jawline.

Step 2

Using your knuckles along either side of the jawline, pull outwards. This creates a defined jawline and releases tension held through the area.

Step 3

Sculpt your cheekbones by moving the palms of your hands upwards and outwards from your chin. Go right underneath your cheekbone to accentuate the contours of your face. 

Step 4

Use your fingers to smooth out the skin under the cheekbones. Again, this creates sculpted and defined cheekbones while releasing tension. 

Step 5

Using firm stroking movements with your hands, lift up your brows to achieve stretched eyelids. Ensure you work across the brows, from one side to the other. Repetitive movements will help achieve a lifted look. 

Step 6

Using your index fingers, apply pressure between the brows, smoothing the fingers across the brows and circling the eyelids. This movement will help to relieve tension, soften the muscles, and create an opened and defined eye area. 

Repeat these simple steps as often as you can—daily is recommended to create change.
