We count down the five cities that should be on your bucket list, according to all those with wanderlust.

With 3.5 billion searches a day, Google’s Travel Trends is first to find the next best destinations for travel. From mystic Iceland to communist Cuba, these destinations are all a little bit different but worth heading off the beaten track for. We list the five most searched for cities according to Google – they just so happen to be some of the most Instagrammable too!

5. Tokyo

Japan’s busy capital Tokyo is a surreal cityscape where the ultramodern and traditional meet. From neon-lit skyscrapers to opulent gardens, it’s definitely a place to get lost in.

4. Mexico City

Historic Mexico City has been investing in it’s future and revamping public areas so local cuisine and shops can thrive in the bustling, sunny city.

It’s also a great stop for the likes of @tuulavintage on the way to see Mayan ruins and Tulum.

3. Toronto

This major Canadian city situated along Lake Ontario is the most multicultural city on the planet. Head here for museums, markets and ice hockey.

2. Havana

It was the destination for Chanel’s Cruise 2016/17 show last year… and the whole Kardashian clan. Cuba has recently opened itself back up to American tourists and travel junkies are trying to get there as soon as possible to see this back-in-time city before it catches up with the rest of us.

Blogger and globetrotter Leonie Hanne of @ohhcouture looked like she had a fabulous time soaking in the sun and riding in vintage Cuban cars.

1. Reykjavik

The capital city of Iceland, Reykjavik has quickly risen in Google’s chart. It’s a place of natural wonder including the Northern Lights, rugged rolling hills and natural hot springs as well as a city with a swathe of museums, cafes and top restaurants.

Check out photographer @directionless_donna‘s recent trip featuring a bright green sky and majestic seascapes.
