With more than 350,000 members, Designer Wardrobe has a close lens on what Kiwi women are buying and selling, and how New Zealand fashion performs after its first life in someone’s wardrobe.Several New Zealand labels consistently sit at the top when it comes to retaining value - and if you’re a fan of some of these designers, then pay attention. Among the top ten are Harris Tapper, meaning those iconic blazers and sharp tailoring you love don’t just look good, but when it comes to reselling, they hold their value incredibly well. Paris Georgia, who is a fail-safe option at an evening dress, and Ruby, which has best-sellers season after season, do the same. While the list spans everything from minimal tailoring to resortwear, there’s one thing these brands have in common: they create clothing built to last. As CEO Aidan Bartlett from Designer Wardrobe explains, their pieces feature “timeless designs, high-quality craftsmanship, durability after wear and washing, broad appeal, seasonal relevance, and unique qualities that aren’t easily copied by other brands.”
