Stuck in a make-up rut? Here's how to step up our date night glam

We know Valentine’s Day has been and gone, but that’s no excuse to let your beauty routine slide.

Date night is a great excuse to break out of your usual routine and amp up your look, and we’re told by Too Faced global artistry expert, Elyse Reneau, that the colour peach is having a real moment.

Now, you’re probably thinking that orange-y coloured shadows are the make-up equivalent to Bridget Jones’ granny underwear, but in fact peach is flattering on every skin-tone. But with celebrities, such as Emily Ratajkowski and Gigi Hadid, recently sporting varying shades of apricot and peach on their eyes, cheeks, and lips, we’ve never seen orange look so sexy.

“It’s all about the sexiest side of natural,” says Elyse. “Glowing, healthy skin, peachy, neutral eyeshadow and a glossy lip keep the focus on you! A lot of men say that when they’re on a date, they want to notice you, not your make-up, so I love recommending a naturally sexy look.”

The secret? Keeping things sheer, but not saturated. Reneau tells us how below.

1. Eyes

Prep the eyes with Shadow Insurance, $31, all over the lid to ensure your look stays put all night.

Then, using the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Palette, $78, follow the below:
Base: Sweep White Peach from lash line to brow.
Lid: Press Just Peachy onto the lid.
Crease: Sweep Candied Peach into the crease and outer lid using a rainbow-like motion.

Use Sketch Marker, $31, in Black to define the lashes, and smudge Delectable on top of liner to blend out. Finish the look with three coats of Better than Sex Mascara, $35.

2. Face

Prime skin with Hangover Primer, $50, then perfect skin with Born this Way Foundation, $62.

Conceal any blemishes with Born this Way Concealer, $43. Use the Sweet Peach Glow Peach-Infused Highlighting Palette, $66, on cheeks to give the skin a radiant, peachy glow. Use the Bronze shade all over, Peach shade on the cheeks, and the Highlight shade on tops of cheekbones.

3. Lips

Finish your look with a moisture-rich lip gloss in your favourite neutral shade (my favourite) Papa Don’t Peach, $47.
